Wiley would like to congratulate Mr Terry O’Brien on his appointment as the new Chairman of the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC).

Mr O’Brien, Managing Director of Simplot Australia, takes up the position following the resignation of Mr John Doumani – Fonterra’s Managing Director Australia New Zealand – who served on the AFGC Board for five years, including the last two as Chairman.

Mr O’Brien said despite the fact that industry is facing challenging times, food and grocery manufacturers remain optimistic about their future in Australia.

“There has never been a more important time for the food and grocery manufacturing sector to maintain a strong voice. Industry priorities include regulatory reform to reduce compliance costs; getting R&D tax incentives right along with other measures to boost innovation; and engaging with retailers to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of the food and grocery supply chain.”

"I look forward to leading the AFGC.”
