Our ground-breaking work for JBS Australia on the Beef City Plate Freezers project and our innovative contributions to the large-scale ready meals facility at Berrinba Logistics Hub have been celebrated, showcasing our ability to push boundaries and transform the food industry landscape.
Revolutionising the Beef City Plate Freezers at JBS Australia: Wiley embarked on a transformative journey with JBS Australia, addressing the crucial need to replace end-of-life manual plate freezers at the Beef City facility. Our objective was to create a new plate freezer building capable of rapidly freezing 3072 cartons of export-quality meat products. Plate freezers are highly specialised equipment, consisting of multiple large aluminium plates with ammonia refrigerant passing through them at extremely low temperatures. With meticulous planning and expert craftsmanship, we successfully accomplished this feat, revolutionising the freezing process and optimising efficiency for JBS Australia. For his remarkable leadership and exceptional project management skills, we proudly acknowledge Graham Harvey‘s exceptional work on this project, which earned him a well-deserved High Commendation at the AIB Professional Excellence Awards. Graham’s client at JBS, Neil Brereton – JBS Group Engineer, was happy to recommend Graham and Wiley for this award saying “JBS are very pleased with the final outcome with all works completed on time and budget ready for commissioning and operations. Wiley were a pleasure to work with.”.
Pioneering a greenfield factory for the ready meals sector: In yet another ground-breaking project, Wiley partnered with a major client in the ready meals sector to design and construct a state-of-the-art greenfield factory on a 30,441m2 site at the Berrinba Logistics Hub (by LOGOS) in Brisbane’s southwest. This ambitious project involved creating a bespoke, environmentally friendly facility spanning 13,700m² and encompassing complex processing and services. By consolidating three production sites into one, we optimised operational efficiencies for our client, who is a trailblazing ready meals supplier. Furthermore, we seamlessly integrated their in-house marketing, administration, distribution, and operations functions into a single operational site, solidifying Wiley’s reputation as a comprehensive solution provider. Wiley proudly congratulates Melanie Patterson, who was honoured with the prestigious Professional Excellence award and will be progressing to the National AIB Awards in September. Melanie said “the project’s success would not have been possible without your huge effort put in from the first day onsite through to the very last. And a big thank you to the subcontractors and suppliers who equally stepped up to the challenge.”.
